How do I create a link between sales or projects in SuperOffice CRM and requests in Superoffice Service?

How do I create a link between sales or projects in SuperOffice CRM and requests in Superoffice Service?

To connect all incoming service requests to a specific sale or project, you will have to take these two steps:

Step 1. Create an extra field in Service

Step 2. Create a tab with a web panel in SuperOffice CRM

Note! To be able to create a new field in the Request table you need to have an Expander Services licence.

Step 1. Create an extra field in Service

To create an extra field in Service, which will connect incoming requests to a particular sale or project, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to Settings & Maintenance.

  2. Click on System design (1) then Tables tab (2). In the list of the available tables, choose Request, and click the New field (3).

  3. All fields which end with the word "relation" mean that they connect a service request to a particular entity in SuperOffice CRM. In this example, we will connect requests to projects.

  4. You must fill in the Name (1) and Database (2) fields. You might want to fill in other fields too, when you are done click the OK (3) button.

  5. Then click on the Restart a Netserver.

  6. Now you should be able to see a new field.

    • In the edit request screen, it can be found in the Extra Fields tab.

    • In the view request screen, you can display it as you want. Please check this FAQ to learn how to do it.

Step 2. Create a tab with a web panel in SuperOffice CRM

To create a tab with a web panel in SuperOffice CRM, which will list all related requests, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to Settings and Maintenance.

  2. Click on Lists (1), select the GUI - Web panel (2) from the selection list, and click on the +Add (3) button.

  3. In the pop-up screen, fill in the Name (1), Windows name (2) and Visible in (3) field to describe how the new tab will be called and where it should appear.

  4. Paste in the URL in the URL (1) field. This will connect your service requests to this project.

To create the correct URL you will have to:

    1. If you use SuperOffice Online, take a note of your CustID. To find it, check your SuperOffice URL, which should look like this, for example, https://online.superoffice.com/Cust17646/admin/default.aspx  In this case, the custID is Cust17646

    2. Take note of the Database field name. In our example it was x_project (Section 1, step 4)
    3. Find the variable for the SuperOffice entity ID. In this example we link requests with projects, so we will use the prid variable. Please find more variables, here.

An example URL will look like: https://online.superoffice.com/Cust17646/CS/scripts/ticket.fcgi?_sf=&action=listTableEntries&table=ticket&field.0=ticket.x_project&value.0=<prid>&preview_secret=<usec>
